Our Purpose

Covenant Christian School (CCS) was founded in 1983 as a ministry of the First Presbyterian Church of Troy, Alabama. Our campus is located in the Educational Building of the church, which is located near the intersection of George Wallace Drive and University Avenue.

CCS was founded on the conviction that a Christian school is an extension of the Christian family. The biblical principles which are taught and lived in the Christian home are honored and reinforced. We are free to use the scriptures to evaluate behavior, textbooks, and all facets of the ministry. As a result, we seek to enrich young minds with "whatever is true, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute...excellent...worthy of praise." (Phillippians 4:8) We strive for excellence in all areas: spiritual, academic, interpersonal relationships, and conduct.

Although CCS is a ministry of First Presbyterian Church, we have students, teachers, and school commission members from various Christian denominations. We emphasize the essentials of the gospel in our chapel service and classroom. In order to promote unity and minimize division, beliefs not essential for salvation are not stressed.
