K-3 and K-4 Grinch Day

Today we had a Grinch party and watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and used the opportunity to remind the students Christmas is about Jesus not things.

We had green grapes, green Christmas tree brownies, lime sherbet floats, frozen green (vanilla) pudding, and fruit grinches in Christmas hats.

We had wonderful fun!  We watched the movie, pinned the heart on the grinch, made fun crafts and ate green foods.

Firetruck Visit

The firemen brought the truck to visit on Friday. The kids loved it.

PTO Meeting

Please join us for for our first PTO meeting of the year. It will be Tuesday, August 27, at 6:00pm in the school library. This is an opportunity for you will meet other parents, learn about school activities, and get involved.

Parent Workday

Parent workday starts at 8:00 am on Saturday, August 17. We have jobs ranging from yard work (playground) to tearing pages out of workbooks. Make sure you sign the sign-in sheet when you arrive. There will only be one other workday this school year. Every family is required to work at one of the workdays. This is an opportunity to get involved in your child's school and get to know other parents.

Parent Orientation

Parent Orientation is Thursday, August 15. It begins in the church sanctuary at 6:00 pm for general information. Then, parents are released to visit their child’s or children’s classroom(s) to meet the teacher and receive class specific information. This is a very important opportunity for you to learn about our school, any changes, meet the teachers, meet other parents, and get information about your child’s class. Please bring your child’s supplies on Thursday night. This will make the first day less hectic for the students and teachers. No students at parent orientation.

Visit Ms. Linda to Register

While we are all out for the summer, Ms. Linda is in the office, 7:30 am-4:15 pm, taking registrations and answering questions. Thank you, Ms. Linda!

Awards Program

Our awards program is Friday at 9:30 in the church sanctuary.  All students will be dismissed at the end of the program.

Kindergarten Graduation

Kindergarten Graduation is Thursday at 10:00 in the church sanctuary.

Miss Troy came to eat lunch with Little Miss Troy, Jordan Ogleclark.

 

Registration is Open

Registration is open. We are currently enrolling K3 through 3rd grade students for 2013-2014.
Stop by our school if you are interested in your child having a strong base in Christian Education. We have small classes, a Biblical based curriculum, and dedicated Christian Teachers.

Box Tops and Labels for Education

All Box Tops and Labels for Education are due Friday, May 3rd. Please remember to label your bags or envelopes with your child's name and teacher.

Yankee Candle Due Tomorrow!

Yankee Candle fundraiser packets and/or money are due Friday, April 12.

Parent Work Day

Saturday, April 6, is Parent Work Day from 8:00 until noon. You or a family representative must work at this work day if a you were not at the Parent Work Day in August. The penalty for not attending one of the work days is a $100 fine. Families that worked the August work day are not required to work this one but we welcome your help.

Pre-registration Deadline

The last day for current students to pre-register is this Friday, March 15th.

Clown Day

First grade had a wonderful day dressing as clowns.  They had circus food and watched circus videos to culminate their recent unit on the circus.

Read Across America (Dr. Seuss Day)

PTO Meeting

Grandparents' Day

Friday, February 15th, we will have a program for our grandparents at 10:00 in the church sanctuary. School will dismiss immediately following  the program. Grandparents are invited to the fellowship hall for refreshments before the program.

CCS Open House

Covenant Christian School is having an open house for K3 through third grade on Tuesday, January 29,  5:30 - 7:00 pm. Covenant Christian School has dedicated Christian teachers, small classes, an extensive library, and a Bible based curriculum. Covenant Christian School is located behind First Presbyterian Church, facing University Avenue.

PTO Meeting

Our next PTO meeting will be held Tuesday, January 15 at 6:30 pm in the CCS library.  We have a number of items to discuss.  They include Grandparents' Day, the CCS playground, and lunch rotation volunteers.
Your involvement in the PTO is much appreciated and critical to the success of a number of activities at CCS.  We look forward to seeing you Tuesday night.
